Ms. Thigpen focuses on complex business litigation, entertainment litigation, consumer class actions, partnership disputes, and intellectual property matters. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, she clerked for the Honorable Ronald Evans Quidachay (Ret.) in the San Francisco Superior Court’s Law and Motion Department. Ms. Thigpen also served as President of the San Francisco Small Business Commission, for which she was named Small Business Advocate of the Year by the San Francisco Small Business Network, and as was appointed by then-Mayor Gavin Newsom to serve as Executive Director of the San Francisco Taxi Commission, where she led enforcement efforts, drafted legislation, and oversaw a merger of her department with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
Since 2009, Ms. Thigpen has served as a complex business litigator, obtaining over $265 million dollars in settlements and verdicts on behalf of her clientsto date.. Her work on In re Medical Capital Sec. Litig. before Judge David O. Carter in the Central District of California secured the then-largest recovery in American history against an indenture trustee, for which she and her team were nominated in 2013 as Consumer Attorneys of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys of California. In the entertainment sector, Ms. Thigpen focuses on right of publicity matters, contract and difficult partnership disputes, addressing fraudulent activity, and obtaining profit participation that is due to talent who are not receiving what they are owed from major studios.
Ms. Thigpen has been named a Super Lawyer by her peers every year since 2015.
